Captured Beauty

If you must know, I can take really good pictures when I want to! Actually I take good pictures all the time! Especially of me! haha

That is an understatement actually because I'm not much of a camwhorer.

That's right! Its me who becomes the object of everyone's camera lens! haha

Really, I'd rather take pictures of everything around me! There is no doubt to the beauty of Mother Nature that is so captivating. Here they are! Some of my Godly-inspired pictures taken in Denmark!
The forest right behind the timber house I stay in. (Pssst, don't tell my parents but Hui Yin and I got lost for about 5 minutes here! hehe)
The naturally pretty setting of the trees and bushes in the early morning winter weather
On the streets of Copenhagen, where a still river rests in between the heart of the city. Bold tree branches complimenting the usual brick houses. Its a really pretty vintage building actually. The naked branches of a tree left to frost overnight. The sun rising up from the clouds above the clear sea water. On the Store Baelt-2nd longest bridge in the world! My personal favourite! The frosted web. Never in all my life have I seen so clearly the intricate design of a spider web!
Yes, i take pride in the pictures I take!
You know I take good pictures. :)

Adorable Kittens Up for Adoption!

The most surprising thing happened last tuesday night. My Mom actually said yes to us taking care of the two abandoned kittens the neighbourhood kids found! But my Mom has no intentions of raising pussies for life. So, I'm left with two options. Either i throw them out to fend for themselves when they are much able or find them loving-cat owners.

SO here they are...introducing Captain Scratchy Whickers(black) and Pussy Natasha(brown)

Aren't they the most adorable things you ever saw??! And they look cuter in real life!

Please, to anyone who is capable and most willing to care for these two kitties, do call me immediately at 0173771151.

Upon finding them, I have since sacrificed my precious beauty sleep and long hours just feeding them milk from a bottle. Babies are a lot of work ok, its tiring just to sit there for an hour making sure they suck the nutrients out of the bottle.

Its so irritating how they can annoy you constantly with their meows until you just get completely fed up and then lure you into putting up with their fuss with that cute big-eyed innocent cat face.

I complained to my mom how I want to give them away already. She just laughed and pushed on saying how its good training for me. Hahaha. very funny.

So someone pleeeease adopt them ok. I did most of the hard work already. I used to sleep till 10 am. Now gotta wake up 7.30 am cause thats when they get hungry!

But trust me, they are worth all the toil and sweat when you see their tiny kitty bodies moving about more energetically.

so, pretty pretty pleeease with a kitty on top?

Of sweet Danish Memories

I figured I'd post up some pretty pictures of me in Denmark instead! Heh sorry la I really got no mood and time to do a proper post and all. SO here it is for now, enjoy!!

Presenting the one and only...
the lovely Andreason family!!!
from left: Clause, me, Soeren, Annette and Kurt! YO!! WE are macho macho people!!!
Our attempt to do a serious pose...but little Soeren spoilt it!!!
And yes, I taught them the LALA pose!!! haha

On the streets of Copenhagen...it was freezing cold I tell you!
The warm vigorous fire never fails to hynotize me and keep me warm!!!
This is little Mai (May). She came to visit with her family during Christmas. the most adorable kid I met in Denmark!!! She keeps talking gibberish in Danish to me, like I understand everything she says!!! haha I tried getting her to take a pictures with me,but most of the time she just wants me to take her picture. haha! believe me,this is one hard picture to get!!
HELLO PRETTY WHITE SNOW!!! It snowed a total of three days during my whole stay in Ulstrup! This was on the very first day I feasted my eyes on snow flakes! There wasn't much snow to dive in and all as you can see. Nothing white covering the ground. There was but a tad bit of light snow falling. But more than enough to make me happy!!! And no little snow will stop me from making my snowman!!!
This is how we roll it!!!! *sings Limp bizkit's Rollin'* keep rollin rollin rollin!!!
Viola! check out my masterpiece...MY very own self made Malaysian snow angel!!!!!!
Fuiyoh! Check out the good looking white snow people!!! Introdusing Mr Snowman and his beloved wife!!! Height: 170cm and 145 cm respectively. Religion: Christians duh!
Blood type: H2O. Total hp life: less than 24 hours. Due to poor marital relationships, Mrs snowman was somehow reduced to killing her husband by knocking off his head. They both melted in the sunlight on the 7th JAnuary 2008. May God bless their snowy souls. Now now, don't play dirty ok. (haha no i shall not admit to bad snow-making skills. ok i forgot to shovel off the dirt and leaves on them!) But other than that, I declare them the perfect snow couple of Denmark! They should so put them in the postcards. It would do the tourism board of Denmark a great deal. On the solero shots of Denmark!!! This was in the Tivoli gardens. Tivoli is a beautiful garden turned into amusement park. Waaay better than genting if you ask me!!! But for some reason the solero shots in Genting was scarier. I was singing my lungs out when we reached the top!!! It was a beautiful sight because you get to see the whole of Copenhagen city glistening at night. see how nervous Claus is. aye, he is afraid of heights! At the Christmas market in Copenhagen. They have fire charcoals almost everywhere here. Thank God! The wind was blowing hard that day. But despite the cold, we walked around the vintagely beautiful city for about 3 hours!!At the ice sculpturing demonstration!!! WE decided to play and poke at the man's big ice block! Claus painfully sketched my name out with his bare fingers. I put in effort by colllecting two rocks and placing it below my name. Can you see?? If you can't then something is wrong with you. Because it so claerly says that Gloria Rocks! hahaha Nah, we didn't ice skate that day. We were content enough with walking on the ice ring with our shoes and I had the satisfaction of smashing a snow ball on both Claus and Soeren! Posing with the one and only world famous fairy tale writer, Mr. Christian Hans Anderson!!!! Mention him and the first thing that comes to my mind is The Ugly Duckling!!! hee On the streets of Hinnerup ( Hin neh woop) where crazee Danes become extremely kiasu in lighting up their whole house with bright and colourful lights!!!! And what do they get in return??? A big fat electricity bill that is. Christmas week. This is Soeren and I!! Actually his name has scandinavian alphabets in it but unfortunately our Malaysian keyboards don't have them. You know...the O with the big slash over it. We were making deliciously sweet konfekt!!! Its a type of Danish Christmas delight. And yes, I have mastered the way of making them! hee Christmas eve. Arrive and grandparents place. Eat pork, potato, sweet bolied apple, Christmas duck with brown sauce. They had second helpings. Then Christmas rice pudding. Find the nut and get a present! Dance around the Christmas tree. Sing Danish Christmas songs. I was declared the best singer. Gather around. Then opening present session lasted the longest. they really take their presents seriously. We start from the youngest and move on in a many circles untill everyone gets to see each other presents and expressions when they rip off the wrappers. The kids get tons of expensive stuff. I get my very own MP3. ME and my very professionally made Christmas decoration. I call it NAture's light! Hee preety a not?
More pictures to come!!!

Life In Denmark

I awoke and sat up straight abruptly; startled by the sudden change of air pressure and loud noises coming from the engines of the plane. In a string of seconds, the plane began to move at sudden speed; greatly reducing its height from the ground, then it paced out slowly and gradually came to a halt.

Within minutes,I found myself on new unfamiliar ground. A huge drop in temperature. New fresh air. A new sight to behold. It was the start of a new beginning- my life in Denmark.

The first week was fine and rather exciting. Since I was their newest and longest guest they showered me with undeserved attention and favour.I mean, really, they sacrifice most of their precious time just for me!!!!

Everything was so different in Denmark. At times, it was completely the opposite from the Malaysian way of life.

Take the petrol station for example, in Denmark, you gotta pump your petrol before going in to pay for it. And no, they don't fuel up their car and hit it. And they take seatbelts seriously. The toilets are squeky clean.(yeala pointless to compare msia toilets) and eventhough you get to call evryone by their first name, manners play a role in every family!

Well, the Danish are definately more civilised.

Ok, so on the 8th Dec 2007, the five of us chosen YEs exchanged handshakes and set off for a country beyond our Malaysian imagination!
The smartly-attired asian gang: me, han ning, hui yin,han yang and our leader- jun king

I stayed in a little town called Ulstrup( ool stoop). Heh Danish writing can be decieving!! Well doesn't help that their ABCs are all wrong and funny sounding. What you read is nothing like how it should sound!

Home Sweet Home

The questioning soul of a friend once asked me, "Why go to Denmark?"

A could think of a million good reasons as to my firm decision on my joining the YE programme.

And these three words sums it up: "Because I can!"

I could and I did. And I am so super grateful to GOd for providing me such an opportunity!
A monthful of new fresh cold air, fibre-based diet, ( yes, we eat bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner!) new friends and acqaintances, fattening and heavy christmas dinners, chocolates, chocolates,a completely different lifestyle and pretty white SNOW!!!!

It was once in a lifetime indeed.

God has been sooo awesomely good to me.

Am still pretty jetlagged now. Will probably take a week or more to adjust and get my gastronomic schedule and sleeping hours back to Malaysian time.

Am pursuing my driving license for now! HEh, I signed up once I got back and will start this coming saturday! ANd hopefully my endeavour to speak fluent Mandarin will succeed! heh

For now, I'm glad I'm home.
