OF free burgers

or rather calories!!!!

Now why on earth is MAcdonalds giving away free burgers???

Just last month their fill stuffing down Mcmuffin sausage burgers down the throats of many innocent beings.(especially HELPers!)

And now, they are offering free BIG MACS?!!!!

But it just gets tougher with bigger, more succulent burgers huh?

Now we have to 'sore' throatily into a free meal by chanting the BIG MAC chant!

NOt only do we sacrifice percious saliva jutting out words non-stop for 4 seconds, but we have to suffer the consequences of eating processed, fattening and absolutely zero-nutrient burgers!!!

MacDonalds may be clever in their advertising schemes, but they don't fool Gloria!!!

Aha!

Family Sports Carnival 2008

While most people would have probably spent their MAy 1st sleeping late and resting.

In utmost irony, I have laboured on Labour's Day!

We Pearlies pushed hard and brought our marketing skills beyond our limits, selling every sausage stick and nuggets to any potential buyers around.

ANd I conclude to say that we have not laboured in vain!! we made a whooping 80% profit!

yay!

I swam 4x50 m race today

we came out first of the last!!!

not bad, eh?

The Start of Beginnings

Its been three good weeks since I entered HELP College. Not that college life has actually started though. SO far, I only did 7 hours of college a week. And I just only got the required books for my course. And we have had zero assingments. TAlk about an easy college life.

But anyway, that was just the first three weeks. As of next week, I will be doing 17.5 hours of computing princuples, study skills, finite maths and intermediate english; excluding assignment time and workload. (Yes, in study skills we STUDY HOW TO STUDY!!!!)

How smart can you get, right?

My, sometimes thinking about it scares me. I read through my computer concepts book and I don't even know what I'm supposed to remember or look for. Honestly, I think that computing will be my worst subject. I can picture this semester's headlines: COMPUTING KILLS UN-TECHNO-SAVVY GIRL

God, I need a miracle. It doesn't help that my lecturer talks to himself all the time. In a really monotonous voice somemore. Apala, how are we suppose to listen to perpetually boring gibberish in a flat tone? But then, I guess I'll have to give him the benefit of a doubt, being a new lecturer on campus.

So far, I've hoped form group G to E. And sat in on A's study Skills once. The class has 10 boys and out of the number of males,6 are international students- 5 africans and one poor iran doode.
If you ask me, they should have placed them in pairs in different classes. That way, there won't be an international student group. I so wanted a korean in my class!!! Ironic that the people in E thought I was a korean international student!!!

The people I met are funny, simple, down-to-earth people. Nope, I haven't met any conniving evil back-stabbing friends! Nor have I met really inspirational people. Not yet la. But I really hope and pray I meet the right people in college; friends who will be there by your side, cheering you on in your daily pursuits and supporting you during your sad and refining moments; people whom I can share tears of joy and laughter with.

You know, it's been a breeze. But I'm beginning to ask myself what role exactly does GOd have for me here. I mean, are we not suppose to be the salt that enchances the taste of a dish and make all the difference in a person's appetitite? Are we not meant to be the light that pierces through the dim dark lies of this world?

whoa. that's big. and it's just so hard to see it take place where I am right now. sigh, God won't you help me?

College can be a pretty scary place if you ask me. Well, I guess every place you're in for a specific time can be. It all depends on the choices you make in life. Change happens. And you can;t fight that. I'm glad that there's change. I mean, without change, there is no growth, no joy, no hope. There is no life without change.

But change can be a risky and scary thing. That is, if you perceive change in a foolish or ignorant way, then you might just end up making the wrong choices in life. ANd instead of being moulded into your best potential, you end up being rusty and tainted- a bigger mess.

If ever we need to change, then let it be for the better, not for worse.

College is indeed the start of a different beggining, and of many more begginings to come.

DeMoralised

Yeaps, I seem to be a little demoralised...as stated in my SPM examination result certificate! I was never really a fan of the subject actually. If it teaches you anything, it is to lie! Because we just make up good stuff to write down and gain points all the time. Even my moral project was a total act! But then, it does teaches you how to pose for the camera! Like how to look like you are actually washing your dad's car...in a very determined and convincing way...

But I am super duper grateful to God for my results. So, if you don't know, then I got 9As 1B. That's right, B for moral. So please do stop spamming my phone inbox! I didn't know I could get so many messages in a day!

ANd before I even got home I knew everyones results in the entire big family! That's how fast news travels within the family. My AMA would be the CNN achor. So within a few minutes, all the aunties and uncles would be discussing about your results! Haiyoh, what to do, typical chinese family thing to do. As much as I dislike comparing results, I have to live with it. Well, at least SPM would be the last! Thank God!

To everyone who got whooping straight As,CONGRATULTATIONS!!!! To the ones who got lesser than expected...don't blame yourselves! ANd congrats too! Well, what matters is that we all did our best! And its finally over!!!!! The real deal now is after-spm life! Where you have to worry about finishing assignments, meeting datelines, living up to the lecturer's expectations of you and actually think of what you are gonna wear each day!!!!

But for now, I really really thank God with all my heart for everything He has given me! God, You are so good to me!!! Even when I dont deserve such favour and blessings! Thank You God!!!

I think the best part about SPM was that God was with me the entire time. It isn't really about the results, its the journey there that's important. And when I was pouring through books and getting all black-eyed, GOd was there giving me strenght and support, guiding and teaching me His ways! And truly, I didn't worry about anything at all, for He kept me filled with His peace. I couldn't have asked for anything more!
